Ambassador Tacan İldem, who served as Deputy Secretary General of NATO until April 2020, took part in the NATO 2030 Evaluation Process Expert Group formed by the NATO Secretary General in accordance with the decision of the 2019 London Leaders Summit.Ambassador İldem, a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, represented Turkey as the OSCE Permanent Representative, NATO Permanent Representative and Hague Ambassador in his 43-year career. He served as the General Directorate of International Security Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Private Secretary, Chief Foreign Affairs Advisor and Spokesperson.In the previous years of his career, he served in various positions at the NATO Permanent Representation in Brussels and the Embassies in New Delhi, Washington and Athens.İldem is the recipient of the Italian Solidarity Star Order of Merit and the Albanian State Medal of Gratitude.
