He is the Head of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department at TOBB University of Economics and Technology and also a faculty member of the Computer Engineering Department.He received his master's and doctoral degrees in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology (Rolla, Missouri, USA), and his bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University. He worked in the USA for 10 years as a postdoctoral researcher, respectively, at Marathon Electric, Beyond Inc and MEMC Electronic Materials Inc.He worked as a system engineer, software engineer, product development engineer and project manager in companies (now renamed SunEdison).In 2005, he returned to academic life as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology (Ankara), where he currently works.Özbayoğlu worked as a visiting researcher at Stanford University for 4 months in 2019.Dr.Özbayoğlu's research areas include subjects such as pattern recognition, algorithmic trading, artificial learning, big data analysis, computer vision, deep learning, evolutionary algorithms. He works as a manager and researcher in national and international research projects.He has over 130 international journal and conference publications and two Turkish textbooks on his study subjects.
