Professor Gökhan İnalhan, B.Sc.He graduated from Istanbul Technical University in Aeronautical Engineering in 1997 and received his M.Sc.and PhD degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University in 1998 and 2004, respectively.He received his doctorate in 2003.from Stanford University with a minor in Engineering Economics and Operations Research (currently Management Science and Engineering).He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2004 and 2006.During this time, he led the Communications and Navigation group on the MIT-Draper Laboratory NASA CER project.He served as Director of the Control and Avionics Laboratory at Istanbul Technical University (2006-2016) and General Manager of the Aerospace Research Center (2016-2019).Gökhan is currently Head of BAE Systems, Professor of Autonomous Systems and Artificial Intelligence and Deputy Director of the Center for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems at Cranfield University.He has led and managed numerous grants and industrial projects from FP7, H2020, SESAR, EC Marie-Currie, EPSRC, NATEP, BAE Systems, Boeing, BR&T Europe and major Euro-Asian aerospace, defense and aerospace companies.He and his research are the recipients of awards such as IEEE AESS Exceptional Service Award, Boeing Faculty Scholarship, Council of Higher Education Outstanding Achievement and TÜBİTAK Innovation Success Stories.Gökhan serves on the Science, Technology and Advisory Boards of various government and commercial organizations and is a general board member of ASDA and the Eurocontrol Agency Research Team.His professional service includes technical committees (IEEE TCAC, AIAA GNC TC), program and editorial boards for IEEE CCTA, ICRAT, SESAR SID and AIAA GNC, where he pioneered themes such as autonomy, intelligent systems and transportation.He currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Aerospace Controls Technical Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Aeronautical and Electronic Systems, and Senior Editor for Autonomous Systems.
